Viewing Other Art Inspires

-I love viewing art when my creativity lags. We all should view and study the art that “speaks” to us. Sergei Bongart and Richard Schmid are 2 of the many I am fascinated by. We should all take time to view art we are drawn to on the internet, in museums, and treat ourselves to books featuring our favorites. So if you are in a creative slump treat yourself to some.

Covid Froze My Creativity

Covid was and is still very scary for many of us with issues but thankfully due to modern science we are starting to get back to some kind of normal. Some of my art friends couldn't stop producing while staying in.  Some of us-including me couldn't create hardly at all.  It feels so good once I started up again.  Long ago I loved pastels and created often with a dear friend and master pastelist. Long before covid we lost her to cancer.  She bequeathed me many of her expensive pastels. I couldn't pick them up without crying. After several years and over a year of covid creativity freeze she appeared to me in a dream. She read me the riot act about how I was letting the supplies she left me rot and go to waste.  So... I got up and dug them out.  I am now truly enjoying doing pastels once again.  It also helped me focus on something else and start to get over my fear.  I once again go out to eat with friends, go to the library and go to art events.  Im still avoiding really big crowds but feel the fact I'm vaxed and boosted I will survive if I catch it. Hooray my creativity is coming back --- I've even sold quite a few of the pastels recently created.  So if you haven't been able to create due to the pandemic - please know its time to start!
