How many times have you heard this?

The words "paint what you love" is something I have heard so often in workshops, from other artists, at paint outs, etc.!  How often do we ignore what we know to be good advice.  Sometimes my persistence and stubbornness get in my own way.  I love the sea.  I grew up a few blocks from it and spent my childhood and youth either in it or on it.  Recently I became inspired when attending a friends gallery event and another friends show posted on-line.  I was moved by the paintings of the sea.  The more I thought about those memories of all the time I spent at the shore -- I could hear it and smell it and see it!  So I had to start painting it!  It wasn't a struggle - it was an act of love.  Being such the art just flowed!  So I will now advice all of you -- remember to paint what you love!
